For Jade Worall, creator of Luminessence, her range of candles, reed diffusers and soaps are about more than just beautiful fragrances. To her, they are about capturing the essence of the relaxed coastal lifestyle she enjoys with her family in Margaret River, WA and sharing it with others.

Jade and her husband have always been obsessed with the ocean and this is something that their three young children have inherited. They are lucky enough to live in a beautiful place renowned for sandy beaches, rolling waves and fresh salty air.

“We live in the perfect place for us – there is no shortage of turquoise waters and surf and the lifestyle is perfectly laidback.” Jade said.

She was given the nudge to create her range after her husband had a serious accident in 2009 which left him unable to work.

“I was a brand new mum with a husband in recovery as well as a mortgage and bills to pay – so I created Luminessence,” Jade said.

“It combines my love for the beach and interior design. I love playing with new fragrances and researching the market for current fragrance trends.”

“What I love even more is our customers. We have a huge repeat clientele and it is our gorgeous customers both across Australia and abroad that make my work even more enjoyable.”

“I have never met a person who does not like candles! They create a beautiful ambience, and they are a luxury item so make the ideal gift for someone special,” Jade said.

As for her top 3? Beach, Driftwood and Laguna are Jade’s personal favourites – Laguna in summer as it is “super fresh and clean”, Driftwood for cosy winter nights in and Beach all year round.

For something for the cooler months, Jade says that woody, spicy scents are usually the way to go. Try Cinnamon Vanilla, French Pear, or Persian Spice – perfect fragrances to compliment a winter lunch or dinner.

“And again – you can’t go wrong with Beach for any occasion!” Jade said.
