Get Expert Advice in Choosing Art at Art Upmarket

Whether you are a new home owner, business owner or art lover, there is plenty of art out there for everyone. Have you ever wanted to buy art for your home or office but didn’t know where to start?

There are a lot of considerations to take into account when choosing art such as the price, colour, size, aesthetics and the general fit of your home. For this year’s Art Upmarket, we have collaborated with interior designer and architect, Juliana Torres, from Shift Architecture to help you take the stress out of choosing the perfect piece.

Juliana is a registered Architect and Green Star Accredited professional (GSAP) by the Green Building Council of Australia. She was a Senior Associate in HASSELL Perth studio between 2008 and 2020. At HASSELL, she had held leadership roles in a diverse range of multidisciplinary projects. Prior to HASSELL, Juliana ran her own architecture practice for 10 years in Brazil with a portfolio focused on commercial, retail, residential and education architecture.

Juliana’s philosophy is that houses are where we recharge and rest, and to connect emotionally with loved ones.  Her home in Nedlands – which she has personally designed – has garnered a positive write up in The West Australian. Juliana is passionate about how her job as an architect is not only to understand you, but your property and how to get the best value out of it. Besides stunning designs and eco friendly features, she has filled her house with artwork from local WA artist, Kelly Muller, who will also be at Art Upmarket on 17th Octover. A talented artist, Juliana even has her own artwork displayed in her home. Read the full article here.
