If Kerry Leigh Juhren’s artwork looks familiar, it may be because you’ve seen it on TV!
The unique style and rich texture of Kerry’s painting was the perfect addition to Perth’s contestants Tanya and Dave’s home renovation on Channel 7’s “House Rules” this year.
The couple completing the Perth renovations – Lenore and Bradley – fell in love with Kerry’s thick impasto paints and textured patterns when they were searching for local art online.

The artwork was placed as a feature focal point for the Perth renovation home’s study area and showcased on Channel 7’s House Rules in May this year.
An emerging artist who now divides her time between Scarborough and Moora, Kerry has previously been a finalist for many local and national art awards – including a Finalist for the City of Stirling, Cervantes and Contemporary Art Awards 2019 – but says that being featured on a national television show has been instrumental to her art career.
“Since my artwork aired on Channel 7’s House Rules, I have been flat out,” commented Kerry.
“I have received so much love and support and now have a waitlist for commissioned artworks, which is just amazing and I am so grateful.”
The judges on House Rules also made personal contact with Kerry to express their congratulations and admiration of her unique style of art.
“One highlight through the selection, delivery and hush-hush five months waiting time before the show aired, was a message I received from one of the judges, Kyly Clark, saying that the team loved my artwork,” said Kerry.

From a distance Kerry’s artwork may appear two dimensional, however on closer inspection the work reveals a three dimensional textured image, engaging the viewer through its structure, colour and mesmerizing patterns.
Painting has always been a part of Kerry’s life but was put on hold to pursue her career as an accountant. Since taking a parenting break from the office and achieving this recent House Rules showcasing, Kerry has found a renewed passion for her creative energy and now splits her time between accounting and painting.
Kerry’s next exhibition will be at the Perth Art Upmarket – where Perth art enthusiasts will have a chance to view and/or buy Kerry’s latest collection – on Saturday 17 October at UWA, from 10am – 4pm.
“A lot of my art is sold online, so I’m looking forward to meeting people face to face at the Perth Art Upmarket. I’ve exhibited at the Art Upmarket twice before and I love admiring all the other talented artists’ work and chatting to the art collectors who always provide me with more confidence to continue my passion for art,” commented Kerry.
