Let’s be honest… one of the best things about Christmas is the food!
Smells of gingerbread cookies baking, rich tastes of Christmas puddings with custard, and trays of fruit mince pies for days are some of the things we love to eat and see this festive season.
As you might probably know by now, here at Perth Upmarket, we are also BIG foodies. If you haven’t been to one of our Upmarkets, we can let you know that you’d see lots (and lots more) food stalls all over the grass area in front of Winthrop Hall and all over outside Hacket Hall at UWA.
We’ve collected the ultimate Upmarket Gourmet Goodies that will be sure to make every foodie happy this Christmas. You can buy them as they are or even better, for the ultimate indulgence, make a hamper of all these delicious goodies!
Nougat Bettenays: In 1989 the Bettenay family searched the Margaret River area for an ideal property on which to grow grapes. Today, not only are they producing some of the State’s most delicious red and white wine, but they have also created delicious nougat, using only local WA ingredients. Starting at $14.95, the Cranberry and Pistachio and Rosewater & Pistachio we think will help get you in the festive food feasting mood!
Bouchee Amour: The team at this French Confectionery create colourful and delicious macaroons that will just delight anyone this silly season. You can grab a selection of 14 rainbow coloured macaroons for $14.95 or why not create something special with a macaroon Christmas tree tower that the team can customise?
Cloudy Confections: Thinking of a Marshmallow Christmas? Well the hand crafted marshmallow gourmet goodies from Cloudy Confections can help you with this. Gingerbread Marshmallows and Candy Cane Marshmallows start at $9 for a heavenly four slices.
Golden Whisk: Brittle, caramels, fudges, fruit pastes, lollipops, rocky road and nuts! With so much variety and also starting at various prices to suit all budgets the gourmet sweets from Golden Whisk are great stocking fillers (get the individual fudges for $6.60 each) or go for the jars of Apple pastes for $12.95 each as great Christmas gifts for teachers and Secret Santas at work or with the whole family and friends groups.
Jonesing for cake: Industrial chemist by day and baker by other times, local foodie Steph loves making people happy by filling them full of cake. You can order cupcakes, from $50 per dozen, and choose from hilariously named goodies. Our favourites for those Christmas feels are “Betty Bombshell” “Unkie Ken” “Yessi” and the “Javi” for the cinnamon goodness.
