Art by Anne-Marie Bloor started many years ago and grew into an incredible small business boasting photorealistic art pieces focused on nature, botanicals and on our beloved furry friends.

Growth during a time of global struggle

Anne-Marie is a seasoned artist, with a passion for nature and animals, who has been painting for many years. Her business grew to be more prolific within the last couple of years during the pandemic, during a time in which many small businesses notoriously struggled, while Anne-Marie thrived.

Her art journey started with ocean scapes, but she quickly realised that her heart was calling her to paint animals and botanical art. She has also branched into pet portraits, which is wonderful for her, as an animal lover.

Realistic Details in Feathers and Fur

Anne-Marie’s medium of choice is acrylic paint on canvas. She is a realism painter who tries to put as much detail into the pieces as possible, to turn her subjects into truly realistic pieces of art. She loves acrylic paint for this reason, because unlike watercolour, acrylic paint allows you to add layer upon layer, which allows for the incredible detail in her work.

She loves adding those final details in the leaves on her botanicals, or the fur on her animals, or the feathers on her birds.

Right now, Art by Anne-Marie Bloor is a part time job. For three days a week Anne-Marie works as a graphic designer. When she’s not working in that role, she tries to spend as much time in her studio as possible, working on her pieces, and hopes to become a full-time artist in the future.

Soaring on Social Media

Every artist has experienced their ups and downs; their successes, and challenges. Anne-Marie’s biggest challenge has been in marketing herself. She wants her art to speak for itself but building a following on Facebook and Instagram has been a time consuming and ongoing struggle. She is certainly not alone in saying that social media growth and engagement takes a lot of time which she would rather spend painting.
