The journey of Magnolia Designs began in 2018 when the founder Magnolia, after being offered a promotion in the jewellery industry, made a bold decision. Rather than accepting the secure job and attractive pay, she chose to pursue a more creative direction. With over 15 years of experience, it was time to create something truly unique and special. Magnolia Designs was born, marking the beginning of a fulfilling entrepreneurial journey that is now in its fifth year.

At Magnolia Designs, each piece of jewellery is an exclusive creation, designed and crafted by Magnolia herself. Picture a skilled blacksmith working with gold on a smaller scale, and you'll get an idea of the physical and laborious process involved in jewellery manufacturing. From working with exquisite Australian pearls, opals, sapphires, and diamonds, to transforming raw materials into stunning jewellery, every step is a testament to the founder's dedication and craftsmanship.

Magnolia Designs is not just a side project or a hobby; it is Magnolia’s full-time business. With unwavering dedication, she pours their heart and soul into every aspect of the brand. Additionally, she volunteers her time as the Chairperson for The Broome Community Stallholders Association, demonstrating commitment to both the business and the local community. Outside of crafting jewellery, she finds inspiration in the pristine beauty of the Kimberley region, incorporating elements of nature into her designs.

Like many small business owners, the lack of time remains one of the biggest challenges. Her deep passion for the business often leads to it occupying the majority of her thoughts and time. However, with the love and support of her mother and sister, she has managed to overcome obstacles and expand the reach of Magnolia Designs beyond Broome. The decision to leave a stable job and pursue their dream took courage, and the support she received has been invaluable.

Looking ahead, Magnolia envisions a future where Magnolia Designs becomes synonymous with the big international names in design and luxury goods. She has plans to take the brand international, especially targeting the refined European market. With her fresh take on pearl jewellery and a passion for cocktail and dress rings, she believes her designs will be appreciated by discerning customers worldwide.

These platforms provide an excellent outlet for small-scale creatives, showcasing the incredible variety and talent present in the market. ‘Temple’ is Magnolia’s inaugural collection for Magnolia Designs. Paying homage to a childhood in Broome, filled with the intoxicating scent of Temple flowers in the tropical air. Grounds littered with the white blooms provide vivid imaginary common to the streets and parks of Broome.
