In the heart of Broome, Western Australia, an award-winning Goldsmith and Designer, Magnolia Howard, has etched her name into the realm of exquisite craftsmanship. With over two decades as a Broome resident, her passion for Broome pearls flows through her veins like a timeless river of inspiration. She has immersed herself in the culture and ethos of Broome, letting its unique beauty infuse her creations. Her brand, Magnolia Designs, is a testament to her dedication to high design, quality, and intentionality, all with the aim of leaving a lasting legacy.

For the past 15 years, Magnolia's artistic journey has been an exploration of Australian pearls and locally sourced gemstones. Her creations bear the mark of this wealth of experience, showcasing her profound connection to these exquisite materials. But Magnolia's journey goes far beyond her jewellery creations. As a senior figure in Broome's jewellery industry, she played a pivotal role in the production of The Australian Pearl Design Competition in 2017 and contributed to The Australian Pearl Magazine. On a broader scale, she volunteers as the Chairperson for The Broome Community Stallholders Association, further cementing her connection to her beloved community.

Magnolia's deep connection to the region has made her a prominent figure not only in the jewellery industry but also in the broader artistic community. Her artistic prowess is not confined to jewellery design; she's known for her commitment to preserving and celebrating the natural wonders of the Kimberley region. Her jewellery pieces often reflect the pristine and remote Kimberley landscapes, and she strives to encapsulate the region's beauty in timeless precious metal.

|
As proof of her dedication to Kimberley's beauty, Magnolia Designs stands as a symbol of sustainability and authenticity. She emphasises the use of Australian materials, proudly crafting pieces that are Australian owned and Australian made. Her commitment to ethical sourcing and environmentally conscious practices underscores her desire to leave a positive legacy, not just through her jewellery but also through her brand as a whole.

In 2018, a new chapter began as Magnolia founded Magnolia Designs. This jewellery brand is more than just ornate pieces; it's a platform for legacy building, built upon pillars of high design and unwavering quality. Her guiding mantra, "Passion for great design, forged in metal, to withstand time. Let your legacy live on," permeates every facet of her brand, from her meticulous material selection to the handcrafted leather packaging she uses.

Each piece crafted by Magnolia is a story in itself, a snapshot of a moment in time encapsulated in precious metals. In 2020, her mission took tangible form with the launch of her inaugural collection, "Temple." This collection pays homage to her childhood in Broome, where the scent of Temple or Plumeria (Frangipani) flowers lingered in the tropical air. With the first pieces of Temple gifted to her late mother Claire on Mother's Day, this collection carries an even deeper significance for Magnolia and her family, preserving her mother's love in every piece.

Magnolia's dedication and talent have not gone unnoticed. Her designs have graced the Australian Jewellery Design Awards (JDA), where she won in 2019 and became a finalist in 2020. 2022 marked a significant milestone with the opening of Magnolia Designs Boutique in Chinatown Broome, solidifying her presence in the heart of her community.
Magnolia's vision is unwavering; she aspires for Magnolia Designs to be synonymous with the international giants in design and luxury. Her plans include taking her brand overseas, where she believes the European market will appreciate her fresh take on pearl jewellery and her passion for cocktail and dress rings.
