A Canvas Full of Passion
Polla Posavec's relationship with art is more than just a hobby; it's a lifelong journey. Her talent was evident even as a toddler, a story lovingly recounted by her grandmother. Having a craftsman father only fanned the flames of her artistic aspirations. She fine-tuned her skills at the University of Western Australia (UWA), eventually venturing into a career in graphic design. However, the canvas kept calling her, leading her to concentrate more on her personal art practice in recent years.

Transformative Years
In 2009, the tragic loss of her husband led Polla to change her artistic focus from acrylics to watercolours. This not only acted as a healing creative outlet but also accommodated the demands of her infant son. Today, Polla has found love again and moved to the picturesque location of Chittering. Her studio, set on a small acreage property, has become a sanctuary where she paints captivating images inspired by the surrounding natural environment

The Artist's Toolbox
Primarily a watercolour and gouache artist, Polla also dabbles in coloured pencil, graphite, and acrylic. She prefers professional quality watercolour tube paints and cotton paper to bring her intricate designs to life. Her meticulous focus on detail is evident as she dives into subjects that allow her to examine the macro — portraiture, botanicals, birds, and still life. The challenge that each new subject presents is an opportunity for growth, making her a lifetime learner in the medium.

Full-time Endeavor
Although she once juggled her art practice with graphic design, Polla now dedicates herself solely to her art. Supported by her hardworking husband, she has confidently and unapologetically decided to bring her art into the world as her primary business.
Navigating Challenges
The tightrope walk of managing her art business from home while running a household is no small feat. Polla cites time management as her biggest challenge but takes it in stride, continually striving for a balanced existence.

A Vision for the Future
Polla's future is brimming with dreams. She wishes to grow her contribution to the art world, both through her art and workshops. Moreover, she aspires to build a dedicated custom studio on her property, making her art even more accessible to the community.
Upmarket Art Fair: A Community for Artists
Polla has a particular fondness for Perth's Upmarket Art Fair, an event she credits for offering artists a unique space to connect with their audience. As a UWA alumni, this market holds a special place in her heart. She values the irreplaceable experience of meeting buyers face-to-face and sharing the stories and processes behind her work.
